Part one


                 asim and Ali Baba were brothers. They lived in
           Ka city in Persia. Kasim was rich. He had a shop.
          He bought and sold gold there. Ali Baba was poor. He
          collected wood in the forest and sold it in the city.

            Ali Baba once heard the distant sound of horses’
          hooves as he was gathering wood.

            Who is coming here, he thought to himself. They

          might be thieves who want to take my wood, I suppose.
          I’ll slink away into this tree. He hurriedly scaled the
          tree, hiding among the branches. The riders showed up.
          Counting forty men, Ali Baba. They had black beards
          and were large and powerful. They each carried a large

          saddlebag. “I was correct.”They are thieves, Ali Baba
          reasoned.

            The tree was next to a large rock. “Open, sesame!” the
          bandit captain commanded as he approached it. A big
          door opened right away. The door in the rock closed
          behind them as they all entered.

            The captain and his troops spent a considerable

          amount of time in the cave. Ali Baba started to feel worn
          out. They emerged when the door unexpectedly opened.
          Their saddlebags were no longer filled. When the captain
          yelled “Shut, sesame!” the door shut and vanished. They
          mounted their mounts and galloped off.


            Ali Baba climbed down the tree. I’ll give those magic
          words a shot. He pondered, “Perhaps there is treasure
          in the cave.” Sesame, open! he yelled, as the entrance in
          the rock flung open. He could see clearly because the
